Idaho Army National Guard Cpt. Blaine Ottinger served as a communications officer with the Idaho Army National Guard until recently relocating to Iowa and transferring to the Iowa Army National Guard. Originally from Idaho Ottinger attended college at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho where he played Lacrosse. In his off-duty time Ottinger played Lacrosse in the Yeti Men’s Lacrosse Club. The club plays their games in Boise throughout the summer.

When possession of the ball is lost by a player, its known as a loose ball, and a frantic competition to regain possession is likely to follow. A team is comprised of 10 players; 1 goalie, 3 defensemen, 3 mid-fielders and 3 attack-men. Each team must keep at least 4 players, including goalie, in its defensive half of the field and 3 players in its offensive zone. The 3 mid-fielders are free to roam entire field. The game has four quarters, plus a halftime.

Idaho Army National Guard soldiers pursue a variety of off-duty recreational interests. In the Gem State, in and around the Boise region, Idaho soldiers take advantage of hunting, fishing, hiking and a wide range of community activities.
