A palette carrying crates of COVID-19 vaccines sits on the tarmac at Yemen’s Aden International Airport, where 168,000 U.S.-donated Johnson & Johnson vaccines landed on December 20, 2021. This U.S. vaccine donation builds on the August 29, 2021 donation of 151,200 shots, totaling 319,200 doses gifted from the American people to date. USAID and partners UNICEF, WHO, and JSI are getting shots in arms, training health workers, transporting vaccines to health facilities and keeping them cold, and engaging communities to increase vaccination rates, strengthening Yemen’s COVID19 response amid the humanitarian crisis.
