Spanish Army Brig. Gen. Carlos Salgado Romero, U.S. Central Command Spanish delegation member, speaks during a memorial service for U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Baldomero Lopez at Centro Asturiano Cemetery in Tampa, Florida, Sept. 15, 2023. Lopez, who grew up in Tampa and was of Spanish descent, earned the Medal of Honor for his valor during the Korean War. On Sept. 15, 1950, Lopez jumped on a grenade during the Battle of Inchon to save the lives of his comrades.
