The Honorable Emiliano Jose Salcines, Jr., retired judge and oral historian, displays a photo of U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Baldomero Lopez during a memorial service at Centro Asturiano Cemetery in Tampa, Florida, Sept. 15, 2023. On Sept. 15, 1950, Lopez jumped on a grenade during the Battle of Inchon to save the lives of his comrades. For his sacrifice, Lopez was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
