U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Scott Gallagher, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion communications maintenance chief, plays Taps during a memorial service for U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Baldomero Lopez at Centro Asturiano Cemetery in Tampa, Florida, Sept. 15, 2023. On Sept. 15, 1950, Lopez jumped on a grenade during the Battle of Inchon to save the lives of his comrades. For his sacrifice, Lopez was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Central Command held the memorial service at his gravesite to remember his heroism.
