U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Alexandra Vanscoyk with Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, arrives at the Base Aérea-naval de São Pedro da Aldeia (Naval Air Station) for a subject matter expert exchange during the Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais Exercício do Componente de Combate Aéreo (Brazilian Marine Corps Combat Air Component Exercise) April 29, 2024. While not directly part of the exercise, U.S. Marines met with Brazilian counterparts to exchange best practices and experiences for a variety of aviation functions to include air defense, air traffic control, and casualty evacuation, in order to build partnership and increase interoperability and communication between militaries. Marine Air Control Group 28 provides aviation command and control, air defense, and communications support to 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing and II Marine Expeditionary Force.
