U.S. Marines from Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, observe Brazilian Marine Joint Terminal Attack Controllers during fixed-wing close air support operations for their Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais Exercício do Componente de Combate Aéreo (Brazilian Marine Corps Combat Air Component Exercise) April 29, 2024, at the Base Aérea-naval de São Pedro da Aldeia (Naval Air Station). While not directly part of the exercise, U.S. Marines conducted a subject matter expert exchange with Brazilian counterparts to discuss best practices and experiences for a variety of aviation functions to include air defense, air traffic control, and casualty evacuation, in order to build partnership and increase interoperability and communication between militaries. Marine Air Control Group 28 provides aviation command and control, air defense, and communications support to 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing and II Marine Expeditionary Force.
