Brazilian Navy Terceiro-sargento (sergeant) Jandir (center), Air Traffic Controller with the Marinha do Brasil, discusses military Air Traffic Control operations with U.S. Marines with Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Brazilian as part of a subject matter expert exchange during the Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais Exercício do Componente de Combate Aéreo (Brazilian Marine Corps Combat Air Component Exercise) April 30, 2024, at the Base Aérea-naval de São Pedro da Aldeia (Naval Air Station). The U.S. Marines conducted the exchange in conjunction with the Brazilian Marine Corps’ exercise in order to increase interoperability between militaries air combat operations. The CCAEx aims to train the subunits of the battalion in coordinating their efforts of Air Operations Control and establishing and operating an Air Operations Base, through aircraft embarkation familiarization, supply, maintenance and fire fighting, casualty evacuation, and through air defense.
