Primeiro-Tenente Fuzileiro Naval (Brazilian Marine Corps 1st Lt.) Geraldes, platoon leader with the Batalhão de Combate Aéreo, briefs U.S. Marines from Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, about the events of the week after they arrived at the Base Aérea-naval de São Pedro da Aldeia (Naval Air Station) for a subject matter expert exchange during the Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais Exercício do Componente de Combate Aéreo (Brazilian Marine Corps Combat Air Component Exercise) April 29, 2024. While not directly part of the exercise, U.S. Marines met with Brazilian counterparts to exchange best practices and experiences for a variety of aviation functions to include air defense, air traffic control, and casualty evacuation, in order to build partnership and increase interoperability and communication between militaries. CCAEx included members of the Brazilian Air Force, Army and Navy, working simultaneously on multiple training objectives from April 29 to May 3.
