A Brazilian Marine positions himself to set up for a group photo while U.S. Marines from Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, observe Brazilian Marine Joint Terminal Attack Controllers during fixed-wing close air support operations at the Base Aérea-naval de São Pedro da Aldeia (Naval Air Station) during the Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais Exercício do Componente de Combate Aéreo (Brazilian Marine Corps Combat Air Component Exercise) April 29, 2024. While not directly part of the exercise, U.S. Marines conducted a subject matter expert exchange with Brazilian counterparts to discuss best practices and experiences for a variety of aviation functions to include air defense, air traffic control, and casualty evacuation, in order to build partnership and increase interoperability and communication between militaries. CCAEx included members of the Brazilian Air Force, Army and Navy, working simultaneously on multiple training objectives from April 29 to May 3.
