(CAMDEN, NJ) – Master Sgt. Anthony Persina, a 249th Engineers Battalion operations non-commissioned officer, answers a question from New Jersey Congressman Donald Norcross at the Cooper Medical Center about the battalion, and the capabilities they bring during natural disaster response. The battalion is performing more than 300 assessments to critical infrastructure throughout New Jersey as part of a regional training exercise. These assessments help determine requirements and expedite generator installations at critical lifesaving and life sustaining locations like hospitals, shelters, or water distribution sites, which enable short-term power restoration for communities while the more permanent power sources are being restored during a national disaster response.
