(CAMDEN, NJ) – Staff Sgt. Jared Gross, a Soldier with the 249th Engineer Battalion documents details of a backup generator at the Cooper Medical Center as par of a regional training exercise. The battalion is performing 300 assessments to critical infrastructure throughout New Jersey. These assessments help determine requirements and expedite generator installations at critical lifesaving and life sustaining locations like hospitals, shelters, or water distribution sites, which enable short-term power restoration for communities while the more permanent power sources are being restored during a national disaster response.
