(CAMDEN, NJ) – New Jersey Congressman Donald Norcross looks at electrical generation equipment at the Cooper Medical Center. The Congressman observed Solders from the 249th Engineer Battalion as they inspected generators and other electrical equipment at the Cooper Medical Center. The battalion is performing 300 assessments to critical infrastructure throughout New Jersey as part of a regional training exercise. These assessments help determine requirements and expedite generator installations at critical lifesaving and life sustaining locations like hospitals, shelters, or water distribution sites, which enable short-term power restoration for communities while the more permanent power sources are being restored during a national disaster response.
