The Tiltrotor Test Rig test team at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex in Moffett Field, California, conducts full envelope evaluation of the first civil tiltrotor system in the late 2010s in the 40- by 80-foot wind tunnel. The 80th anniversary of the first operation of the tunnel occurred in June. The 40x80 tunnel, along with the 80- by 120-foot wind tunnel at the Ames Research Center, are managed by AEDC and, together, these two tunnels make up NFAC.
