FINEGAYAN, Guam (Dec. 20, 2024) - Contractor-owned barracks for H-2B visa workers can be seen during a safety inspection. Safety staff from the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas inspect the contractor's facilities at least twice a year to ensure there are no health or safety concerns.
The H-2B visa program allows U.S. employers or U.S. agents who meet specific regulatory requirements to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary nonagricultural jobs. The contractor owned and operated facilities support hundreds of H-2B visa workers who conduct construction on Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz.
Facility inspections occur frequently to ensure there are no health and safety hazards. In the aftermath of Typhoon Mawar in 2023, the OICC conducted six inspections to ensure this contractor's facilities were adequately repaired after typhoon damages
