OICC staff conduct a safety inspection of H-2B visa worker barracks

FINEGAYAN, Guam (Dec. 20, 2024) - Safety staff with the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas walk through H-2B visa worker's barracks on a contractor's facility. OICC staff inspect contractor owned and operated facilities to look for health and safety concerns.

The H-2B program allows U.S. employers or U.S. agents who meet specific regulatory requirements to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary nonagricultural jobs. The contractor owned and operated barracks support hundreds of H-2B visa workers who conduct construction on Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz.

Facility inspections occur at least twice a year. In the aftermath of Typhoon Mawar in 2023, the OICC conducted six inspections to ensure all facilities were adequately repaired after typhoon damages.
