Safety personnel with the Office in Charge of Construction highlight safety concerns during a tour of H-2B visa worker barracks on a contractor-owned facility

FINEGAYAN, Guam (Dec. 20, 2024) - Safety staff with the Office in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas use a phone flashlight to illustrate safety concerns during an inspection of H-2B visa worker facilities.

The H-2B visa program allows U.S. employers or U.S. agents who meet specific regulatory requirements to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary nonagricultural jobs. The contractor owned and operated facilities support hundreds of H-2B visa workers who conduct construction on Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz.

Facility inspections occur at least twice a year. In the aftermath of Typhoon Mawar in 2023, the OICC conducted six inspections to ensure this contractor's facilities were adequately repaired after typhoon damages
