Daniel Chick, assigned to 6th Squadron, 1st Calvary Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, brief a situation report on notional enemy conditions and movement to an evaluator during the Iron Scout competition as part of Torch Week at Fort Bliss, Texas, Nov. 5, 2024. The Iron Scout competition puts noncommissioned officers and junior enlisted Soldiers through a series of challenges in several categories such as general military knowledge, basic Soldier skills and physical fitness. Torch Week is an annual event to celebrate the history of the 1st Armored Division through healthy competition among several units across the 1st Armored Division.
