Lance Cpl. Jeff J. Simpson knocks out concrete above a doorway Sept. 23 at Taysan Elementary School, Legazpi, Republic of the Philippines so that Philippine Navy Seabees and U.S. Marines can repair it. The Seabees and Marines will work together over the upcoming days to complete and engineering civic assistance project as a part of Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014. Humanitarian and civic assistance projects during PHIBLEX 14 offer unique opportunities to build interoperability with our partner nations, while at the same time building capacity and sustainability for the future.
