Tech. Sgt. Chris Reiter, and Airman 1st Class James Giesick lift a new brake unit onto a KC-135 landing gear axle as Airman 1st Class Ryan McMillen assists, Sept. 28, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The brake set had to be replaced when a crack in the heat shield was detected during a post-flight inspection. Sgt. Reiter, a native of Farmington, N.M., is deployed from Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. Airman McMillen, hailing from Warsaw, Ill., is deployed from McConnell AFB, Kan., and Airman Giesick, originally from San Diego, Calif., is deployed from Grand Forks AFB, N.D. All are assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 340th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
