A gray hose (left) pumps water from a flooded valve box on the pipeline feeding water to Q-West during an Aug. 5 mission. Supervised by the Mississippi Army National Guard's Mayor Cell Water Team, 2nd Battalion, 198th Combined Arms out of Senatobia, Miss., civilian contractors have taken the valve gate from the pipe. The Mayor Cell suspected that local Iraqis used these gates to shut off the flow, thus diverting water to their own unauthorized taps in the line.
