Maj. Ron Weneck, an operating room nurse with the Army Reserve's 629th Forward Surgical Team of Columbus, Ohio, prepares for a patient with a serious head injury. A steel beam at a construction site fell 20 feet and struck a Ugandan soldier. The 629th treated the soldier and prepared him to be transported via CH-47 Chinook helicopter 200 miles south to a hospital that had CT scan facilities. The 629th is in Uganda as part of a humanitarian and partnership-building exercise with five East African nations: Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi.
