160707-N-IN729-270 SOUTH CHINA SEA (July 7, 2016) Chief Logistics Specialist (SW/AW) Radly Avenir, from San Francisco, senior Damage Control Training Team member for repair locker 7F, provides coaching and guidance for Sailors attached to a fire team as they fight a simulated class alpha fire in the anchor windlass room aboard the Navy’s only forward deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Sailors attached to fire teams practice fighting different classes of simulated fires during general quarters drills. Fires are classified by the type of material that is burning including class alpha for organic material such as wood or paper, class bravo for combustible liquids and class charlie for electrical components. Ronald Reagan, the Carrier Strike Group Five (CSG 5) flagship, is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
