160814-N-OI810-032 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 14, 2016) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Heaven Alexander, from Mineral Ridge, Ohio, tightens a nut to secure a lube line to the port cylinder of catapult four on the flight deck of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Reagan's four steam-powered catapults are able to trust a 48,000 lb. aircraft 300 ft., from zero to 165 miles per hour in two seconds. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
