YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 14, 2016) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Kyle Thompson secures a lube line to the starboard cylinder of catapult four on the flight deck of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The lube line is part of a lubrication system used to reduce friction within the catapult piston during the launching of aircraft. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
