Edward Hébert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) simulates manual ventilation of a trauma patient during Military Field Practicum 102 Advanced Combat Medical Experience (ACME) at USU, Aug. 9. The Department of Military and Emergency Medicine at USU conducts ACME annually as part of the Summer Operational Experience for second-year medical students at Naval Support Activity Bethesda. The purpose of ACME is to help students develop and reinforce knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform effective pre-hospital assessment and stabilization of combat wounded casualties.
