160814-N-OI810-050 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 14, 2016) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Kyle Thompson (left), from Onsted, Michigan, and Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Airman Heaven Alexander, from Mineral Ridge, Ohio, tighten expansion bolts on the port cylinder of catapult four on the flight deck of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Thompson used a torque wrench to apply a specific torque to a nut while Alexander held the bolt in place. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
