MARINE AIR-GROUND TASK FORCE TRAINING CENTER TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. – Cpl. Garrett Watkins, a military working dog handler with Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 15th Expeditionary Unit, provides security for the BLT Marines who conducted a raid on a Military Operations in Urban Terrain training town during Realist Urban Training, March 12, 2017. RUT is a land-based exercise that provides an opportunity to integrate unique skills and develop the MEU’s collective proficiency in challenging and unfamiliar environments. The MEU maintains a high level of readiness to be where needed, when needed, and the units undergo demanding unit-level certification cycles to be proficient in every critical mission area.
