170728-N-ZS023-028 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 28, 2017) Machinery Repairman 3rd Class Andrew Shrum, a native of Sacramento, California, assigned to Repair Locker 4, aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), uses a naval firefighting thermal imager during a simulated general quarters drill. Repair Locker personnel are responsible for the combating shipboard casualties in an event of serious damage to the ship. America, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Asia Pacific region to strengthen partnerships and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
