170929-N-UK248-048 STRAIT OF HORMUZ (Sept. 29, 2017) The Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70) steams behind the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) during a routine transit in the Strait of Hormuz. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
