171005-N-XT039-020 SASEBO, Japan (Oct. 5, 2017) Cryptologic Technician (Technical) 1st Class Timothy Foster, from Whidbey Island, Wash., performs chest compressions on a mannequin during a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification class aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). The CPR certification qualifies Sailors to be first responders for injured personnel in the event of a casualty. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
