Spc. Brandon Seaburg, from Crystal, Minn., scans his sector of fire as a M2 machine gunner on a Caiman Mine Resistant Ambush Protected along Route Tampa in southern Iraq, Oct. 28, 2011. Seaburg, on his third deployment, enjoys being a gunner. “Machine gunners are out in it. Not inside the truck or helicopter, in a bubble. I feel like I am in the world, not just watching through glass,” said Seaburg. In their first 90 days, the 1st Squadron, 94th Cavalry "Iron Rangers," 1st Brigade, 34th Infantry Division "Red Bulls" provided nearly 700,000 miles of convoy security missions for the drawdown from Iraq. The Iron Rangers average three times as many missions as their predecessors in support of Operation New Dawn.
