JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 22, 2019) – Hospitalman Wesley Ward, of Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Ambulatory Procedures Unit, prepares to hoist the flag during morning colors. Ward, a native of Amarillo, Texas, says, “Being a part of the command color guard is one of the most honorable things I have ever done with my life. There is nothing that makes me prouder to be an American or serve my country, than raising the ensign for morning colors. All the color guard members here are held to the highest standards of military bearing and professionalism, leading to perfection at every ceremony. At the end of the day, it’s all about honor, courage, commitment, and the pride of being a free American serving this country.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
