JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 22, 2019) – Religious Programs Specialist Apprentice Dean DeMauro, of Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Pastoral Care, prepares to hoist the flag during morning colors. DeMauro, a native of Mebane, North Carolina, says, “I joined the United States Navy because I was very passionate to serve and be a part of something bigger than I ever imagined. I joined to take pride in something I do each and every day. Being a part of the Navy for only six months now, I’ve already experienced one of the true meanings of the Navy: teamwork.
