190815-N-PP451-1002 FORT HUNTER LIGGETT, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2019) Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5 begin the process of “tripping out” each piece of drill steel. The tripping out process is when the drill pipe is hoisted from the borehole during water well training. Seabees assigned to NMCB-5 participated in 24-hour drilling operations to develop a functional water well. The water well training was completed in preparation for Major Combat Operations response or Humanitarian Aid/Disaster Relief.
