Braydon Cavender, a bridge boat erection vessel operator with the 1st Combat Engineer regiment affix the flag of the Canadian engineers to the communications tower of a bridge boat erection vessel before launching from the shore of the Columbia River here Aug. 16 during a maritime course held as part of Kootenay Castor 2012. Kootenay Castor is a two weeklong combined training exercise between Washington Army National Guard and Canadian army combat engineers to enhance the soldier's skills and tactics.
