211119-N-EV253-1162 SAN DIEGO (Nov. 18, 2021) – Chief Aviation Machinist’s Mate Henry Contreras, from Anaheim, California, and assigned to the “Merlins” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3 is pinned with the Chief Petty Officer (CPO) rank insignia by family members during a CPO pinning ceremony hosted by HSC-3 aboard Naval Air Station North Island. During the ceremony, 28 selectees assigned to tenant squadrons responsible to Commander, Helicopter Sea Combat Wing, Pacific, were promoted to the rank of CPO, and represented their respective squadrons, including the “Merlins” of HSC-3, the “Black Knights” of HSC-4, the “Indians” of HSC-6, the “Eightballers” of HSC-8, “Golden Falcons” of HSC-12, “Chargers” of HSC-14, “Blackjacks” of HSC-21, “Wildcards” of HSC-23 and “Firehawks” of HSC-85.
