211119-N-EV253-1170 SAN DIEGO (Nov. 18, 2021) – Chief Naval Air Crewman (Helicopter) Matthew Bartlett, from Raleigh, North Carolina, and assigned to the “Merlins” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3, is congratulated by family members after receiving the Chief Petty Officer (CPO) rank insignia and cover during a CPO pinning ceremony hosted by the "Merlins" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3, aboard Naval Air Station North Island. During the ceremony, 28 selectees assigned to tenant squadrons responsible to Commander, Helicopter Sea Combat Wing, Pacific, were promoted to the rank of CPO, and represented their respective squadrons, including the “Merlins” of HSC-3, the “Black Knights” of HSC-4, the “Indians” of HSC-6, the “Eightballers” of HSC-8, “Golden Falcons” of HSC-12, “Chargers” of HSC-14, “Blackjacks” of HSC-21, “Wildcards” of HSC-23 and “Firehawks” of HSC-85.
