211119-N-EV253-1367 SAN DIEGO (Nov. 18, 2021) – Chief Yeoman Meagan Bailey (left), from Clarksville, Tennessee, and assigned to the “Merlins” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3 has her Chief Petty Officer (CPO) cover donned by her mentor, Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician Christopher Johnson, from Arlington Heights, Illinios, and also assigned to HSC-3, during a CPO pinning ceremony hosted by the Merlins, aboard Naval Air Station North Island. During the ceremony, 28 selectees assigned to tenant squadrons responsible to Commander, Helciopter Sea Combat Wing, Pacific, were promoted to the rank of CPO, and represented their respective squadrons, including the “Merlins” of HSC-3, the “Black Knights” of HSC-4, the “Indians” of HSC-6, the “Eightballers” of HSC-8, “Golden Falcons” of HSC-12, “Chargers” of HSC-14, “Blackjacks” of HSC-21, “Wildcards” of HSC-23 and “Firehawks” of HSC-85.
