THULE AIR BASE, Greenland – The air traffic control tower overlooks the runway at Thule Air Base, Greenland, Aug. 9, 2022, and is operated by Airmen from the 821st Support Squadron who support more than 3,000 U.S. and international flights per year. Located 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle Thule AB features a 10,000-foot runway, which provides a vital lifeline for personnel and supplies to flow to and from the remote base.
