THULE AIR BASE, Greenland – The Wolstenholme Fjord, located 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle near Thule Air Base, Greenland, is the only place on earth where four active glaciers join together, Aug. 10, 2022. The Upgraded Early Warning Radar, operated by the 12th Space Warning Squadron under Space Delta 4 - Missile Warning, overlooks the fjord. 12 SWS is part of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment network, which provides early warning of ballistic missile launches to National Command Authorities via the Missile Warning Center and North American Aerospace Defense Command.
