THULE AIR BASE, Greenland – The end of the 10,000-foot runway at Thule Air Base, Greenland, rests against the backdrop of an Arctic tundra landscape, Aug. 16, 2022. Located 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle, Thule AB is the Department of Defense’s northernmost installation.
