The water treatment plant of Al Danedan is one of the oldest plants in Mosul. It mainly provides water to the Waladi Textile Factory and the industrial area of west Mosul. The plant was severely damaged during the conflict with ISIS and could not provide safe and clean water to the people living or working in this area.
USAID supported the rehabilitation of the Al Danedan water treatment plant in Mosul.
Today, the plant serves more than 100,000 people in Mansour, Sukar, Wadi Hajar, Al-Ghazlani, Mamoun, and Tel Al-Ruman neighborhoods.
By rehabilitating water treatment plants and distribution networks in Iraq, USAID supports international efforts to stabilize areas liberated from ISIS by restoring damaged or destroyed essential services and providing safe livelihood options for the most vulnerable groups.
