PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 9, 2022) – Fleet replenishment oiler USNS Henry J. Kaiser (T-AO 187) approaches amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) to facilitate a replenishment-at-sea, Nov. 9, 2022. Naval warships require fuel to keep the ship’s service diesel generators and onboard equipment operational. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship Makin Island and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P.
