Sailors simulate fire fighting during flight deck drills aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. Fire fighting is an essential skill for sailors to know and is practiced often so in the event of an actual emergency they can respond quickly. Flight deck drills are a series of events that simulate what would happen should an aircraft have to crash land on the flight deck and are held so Sailors know how to properly respond in an actual emergency. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed in the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibilities. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
