FORT LEE, Va. (Oct. 3, 2006) - Sgt. 1st Class Darnyell C. Parker, NCO Academy, Fort Lee, attaches a quick release sling to Staff Sgt. Mario O. Medina's personal weapon during the pre-combat inspections held on day two of the 5th annual NCO/Soldier of the Year "Best Warrior" competition. Medina, Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Wash. and native of Las Vegas is representing U.S. Army Medical Command in the competition.
