Staff Sgt. Douglas Norman, representing U.S. Army Special Operations Command, calls in a nine-line medical evacuation report during the battle drills test Oct. 5, 2006. The test also included performance in the laws of war, handling of prisoners, foot marches, stabilizing casualties, establishing communications, assembling and disassembling weapons and detecting IEDs. Norman, an indirect fire infantryman with HHC, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Ga., is part of 20 NCOs and Soldiers competing at the fifth annual NCO and Soldier of the Year competition Oct. 2-6, 2006, at Fort Lee, Va. Norman is native to Casper, Wy.
