Staff Sgt. Stacy-Lyn De La Hoz, representing U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, writes a report on her capture of a prisoner during the battle drills test Oct. 5, 2006. The test also included performance in the laws of war, foot marches, stabilizing and evacuating casualties, establishing communications, assembling and disassembling weapons and detecting IEDs. De La Hoz, a satellite communications systems operator with Company B, 53rd Signal Battalion at Fort Meade, Md., is part of 20 NCOs and Soldiers competing at the fifth annual NCO and Soldier of the Year competition Oct. 2-6, 2006, at Fort Lee, Va. De La Hoz is native to Anchorage, Alaska.
