Capt. Matthew Zahler, RC South Air Mobility Liason Officer and Romanian Army Staff Sgt. Daniel Chircu stand near each other at a drop zone in the Zabul province of Afghanistan near FOB Lagman during the hands on portion of a Landing Zone Safety Officer class. Students were in the class to be certified to safely run the dirt landing and drop zone. Zahler was there to help teach students how to safely run a drop zone.
