MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Sept. 4, 2017) Marines assigned to Low Altitude Air Defense, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 365 (REINFORCED) prepare to fire a stinger missile on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) during a live-fire missile shoot exercise Sept. 4, 2017. The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit regularly conducts training to maintain readiness. Bataan is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
